Dues

The short answer: hand your accountant one date-range bundle drawn from the same books the dues came from — assessments posted, payments by door, vendor invoices paid, and the balances they add up to. If the bundle and the bank disagree, say so in the bundle; an accountant can work with a named gap and cannot work with a hidden one.

Boards lose weekends rebuilding this from a spreadsheet, a portal export, and an email thread. Each file is almost right, and the weekend goes to finding where they part.

What is in the bundle

The period's charges and who paid them, the vendor invoices and what they were for, the opening and closing balance per door, and any door still open. One export, one date range, from one set of books.

  • The vendor invoices, and what they were for
  • The opening and closing balance per door
  • Any door still open, named as a gap

Hand your CPA one bundle

Hoavik is built so that bundle exports from the same ledger as the dues and the vendor file. We do not file taxes and do not act as your CPA — we keep the record your CPA works from.
